Return of the Alt Country Show

Posted in Upcoming Show by schoolofrock on June 2, 2008

Hey Everyone!

The doctor is back from vacation. It was great, thanks for asking.

Tomorrow (06/03) we will be doing a LIVE repeat of our show celebrating Alt-Country music.  You remember the stuff, right?

A set list that includes some of the latest from the Old 97s new CD Blame it On Gravity as well as great music from Blue Rodeo, Uncle Tupelo, Richard Thompson, Bright Eyes, Wilco, Son Volt, Buddy Miller, Richard Buckner, The Waco Brothers, Eric Ambel, and Justin Townes Earle.  Of course we will also be playing some classics from Grand Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers, Johnny Cash, and Creedence.

We will be profiling a new great Alt Country band, Thrasher Cadillac!  Check them out at:

http://myspace.com/thrashercadillac

And we will also discuss what makes a great Alt Country song…

So, this Tuesday — 2pm on WUDR — that is where the country is being played.  The real country that is.  We will also be playing a tribute to the great Bo Diddley! A Rock and Roll pioneer who influenced many genres of music!

So as always tune in, stream in, do what you need to do… and let your pal good ‘ol Dr. J know what you think at drjwudr@gmail.com.
