Welcome to the School of Rock.  This blog accompanies Dr. J’s School of Rock, a radio program orginating from Dayton, Ohio, from the University of Dayton’s Flyer Radio WUDR, 99.5 FM.   Dr. J’s School of Rock can be heard each and every Tuesday from 4-6 PM EST.

Dr. J is an old school rocker from way back, having worked in radio in his college days.  His musical influences are all over the map, but he counts bands from the Minnesota music scene, like Husker Du and the Replacements, and the North Carolina area, like the Connells, among his favorites.  Dr. J is also a fan of the alt-country and alt-pop sounds.

Mrs. Dr. J is Dr. J’s occasional, yet faithful sidekick.  She got her radio gig the easy way–she married the dj.  If a song sports a jangly guitar, empassioned vocals, or an eminently danceable bass line, it can probably be found on Mrs. Dr. J’s ipod.
