Show!
Hello everyone! We have a terrific show going today… Our good friend WaterTiger called and we discussed how Brit has become a Brit, Rudy who?, and the state of music. Our good friends Res and Dr. Atta J. Turk will be calling as well. We will be playing new stuff from the Fiery Furnaces, The World Record, Bruce Springsteen, Feist, The High Strung, and Debbie Harry. And as always the show will begin and end with The Connells!
Remember that you can always reach us at drjwudr@yahoo.com
Enjoy the show!
Best Rock Books of 2008
Laurie Lindeen – Petal Pusher
A terrific personal read about Lindeen’s bands ZuZu’s Petals. She describes in amazing detail what her band went through as a Minneapolis power pop rock band. She describes the ups and downs — mostly downs — of being on tour and in a band. Dr.J loved this book!
Jim Walsh – All Over but the Shouting
A great book about the Replacements! A book written through the recollections and quotes of the scensters and musicians who were there at the time! While difficult to follow at first, the book builds a momentum and deep, deep insider perspective that becomes impossible to ignore. The chapter on the death of Bob Stinson will cause the most dire-hard heart to tear up. Highly recommended.
